As you can see I am not really into blogging, but I am going to try harder, and have it as my new school year resolution.
Today is the hottest day that we have had for some weeks. How typical is that with all the schools starting back? I cannot believe that we have had 7 weeks summer holidays, and I have not done half of the things that I had planned to do with the children, don't get me wrong we have been busy and have gone on trips, we have also spent time over in Ireland with my children's Uncle, Auntie and two baby cousins, which they adore. We are also have building work done on our house which has meant getting up early throughout the holidays. But that is another summer holiday over.
Sebastian the face of our website, is now 7 years old, and has today started a new school and started Key Stage 2. As you can imagine yesterday and this morning I have been worried as all parents are. Have I made the right decision to move him, he was happy at his old school, so that is not the reason for me moving him, but the new school is nearer, it has more sport, which he loves and it is a growing school.
This morning he got up without any problems and I took him in, met his new teacher, she seems lovely. I am now sitting here wondering what he is doing, I am sure he is fine, I just worry. Charlotte is a very confident child that just goes straight in and does not worry about a thing. On her first day at school I was the Mum standing at the classroom door watching her organising everything and telling me to go away, unlike other parents cuddling their crying children and un clinging them so that they could leave. I felt like a spare part. Sebastian is very quiet and takes everything in, you can practically hear his brain calculating, and accessing everything going on around him.
I do hope he does not come home tonight and say, "yes I like that school but I want to go back to my old one".
Tomorrow Charlotte starts Year 8 at grammar school, we are then back into our usual chaotic morning rush until October, and of course there is also the evening clubs. I do not enjoy these coming terms when it starts to get dark early, the only part that I like the best is getting ready for Christmas, oh and of course Charlotte's birthday in October, when she starts her teenage years.
We also have some new items that are now ready to put onto our website so keep a eye on our site.
